The distinction

Wall panelling that reads as architecture
— not decoration applied to a wall.

Most wall panelling is a product — boards or tiles selected from a range and applied to a surface. The result can look considered. It rarely looks designed. The proportions are fixed by what the product allows, not by what the wall and the room require. The joins are visible because no product was made for this specific wall. The ceiling height is what it is and the panelling reaches a standard height below it.

Bespoke wall panelling from Inspired Elements is designed to the exact dimensions of the wall — the height of the room, the width of each bay, the profile of each panel edge. The panels are manufactured to those dimensions in our London manufacturing facility and installed flush, as part of the room's architecture.

Our approach

Designed for your living room. Built in our London manufacturing facility.

Inspired Elements designs and manufactures bespoke wall panelling and cladding systems in North London. We begin with the specific dimensions of the wall — its height, width, any architectural features it has to work around — and design a panelling system that is proportioned for that wall and no other.

Every panel, every batten, every profile is manufactured in our London manufacturing facility using German CNC precision machinery and installed by our own team. The result is panelling with the dimensional accuracy and finish quality of bespoke joinery — because that is exactly what it is.

Panel systems

Every panelling style. Any profile. Made to your wall.

Fluted & Reeded Panels

Vertical fluting and reeding — the most architectural of the panel profiles. Closely spaced grooves running floor to ceiling, creating depth, shadow and texture across the surface of the wall. A wall treatment that changes with the light throughout the day.

Full-Height Cladding

Floor-to-ceiling wall cladding in laminated boards, lacquered board or specialist surface material — the wall as a single resolved surface rather than a decorated one. Used in bedrooms, studies, living rooms and entrance halls where the intention is an enveloping, considered interior.

Headboard & Bedroom Panelling

Fitted wall panelling behind a bed — a headboard that is part of the wall rather than a piece of furniture placed against it. Floor-to-ceiling or dado height, in any finish, with integrated lighting where specified. The bedroom wall designed as a composed surface.

Where panelling works

Every room where the
wall is part of the design.

Living Rooms & Reception Rooms

Feature walls behind a sofa or fireplace, full-room panelling schemes, chimney breast treatments and flanking panels — the living room wall as a composed architectural surface rather than a painted backdrop.

Bedrooms & Dressing Rooms

Headboard walls, full-height bedroom cladding, dressing room panelling and fitted panel systems that integrate with wardrobes and joinery. The bedroom as an enveloping, considered interior from floor to ceiling.

Hallways & Entrance Halls

The first impression. Dado-height panelling, full-height cladding, staircase wall treatments and entrance hall panelling designed to set the tone for the rest of the house.

How it works

From first conversation to finished wall.

01

Design Consultation

Every project begins with a conversation — at our Stanmore showroom, by phone or online. We want to understand the room, the wall, the finish you have in mind and what you want the result to feel like.

02

Design & Specification

Our designers develop the full panelling specification — profile, proportions, finish, any integrated lighting or mixed material details. We work to your brief and present options until the design is right.

03

Site Survey & Manufacturing

Before manufacture begins, we carry out a precise site survey — measuring the wall and confirming all tolerance details. Every panel is then manufactured in our London manufacturing facility to the exact dimensions of the wall.

04

Installation & Aftercare

Our installation team fits the panelling. They work clean, protect completed surfaces and carry out a full quality inspection before signing off. All joinery and panelling carries a 10-year warranty.

Common questions

Questions about bespoke wall panelling.

What is the difference between bespoke wall panelling and an off-the-shelf product?

Off-the-shelf panelling products are made to standard sizes — they are applied to walls and trimmed to fit. Bespoke wall panelling from Inspired Elements is designed and manufactured to the exact dimensions of the wall — every panel proportioned for the specific height and width, every profile cut to the precise measurements of the space. The result is panelling that reads as part of the architecture, not a product applied to it.

Can panelling be designed to integrate with existing joinery — wardrobes or a kitchen?

Yes. If we have manufactured joinery elsewhere in the room or the house, we hold the finish references and manufacture the panelling to coordinate precisely. If the joinery was made by another manufacturer, we sample and match the finish before production begins.

How long does bespoke wall panelling take?

From confirmed specification to installation, most projects run three to four weeks. The design and specification stage typically takes one to two weeks.

Do you offer a warranty?

Yes. All Inspired Elements joinery and panelling carries a 10-year warranty as standard.
